The Aberdeen Branch has a thriving and friendly membership, but we would be delighted to welcome further new members to our Branch at any time. The meetings are now geared very much to a social evening – it is not all business! The Association is open to all office staff and is a perfect platform for making new friends and contacts. A Meeting is held on the first Tuesday of every month (January excluded) in The Sportsmans Club, 11 Queens Road, Aberdeen, at 7.30 p.m. (registration from 7.15). Our Speaker’s Secretaries always try to meet the membership’s preferences and have been able to find some very interesting speakers in the past. We have visits and/or outings throughout the year to give us a break from the normal routine, and our December meeting now takes the form of our Christmas Dinner. Our Committee consists of eight members and on behalf of the Branch the President and Secretary attend the National Joint Committee Meeting each year. This brings together Committee members from all the Branches in the UK to discuss future policies etc. The Annual Convention, which is hosted in turn by each Branch in their home town, is open to all members and our Branch is usually well represented. Every second year members choose a local charity to which they donate the proceeds of their fund-raising. If you are interested please check out our website, www.uksecretaries.co.uk, where you will find information on our Programme for the coming year.
